Can a practice use Claude with patient information?
Only under a Business Associate Agreement and a configuration it covers. Anthropic's BAA covers its API and Enterprise plans with HIPAA settings enabled; it does not cover Free, Pro, Max or Team plans. So we draw a clear line: PHI workflows run only in BAA-covered setups, and everything else (policies, training, payer research, templates, operations) can start right away.
